Our second date (2013)

Yes, our second. We can’t remember too much of our first date because we had a few too many to drink.

For our second date, we went to dinner at a Thai restaurant in Seattle called Jamjuree. Allen ordered the Cashew Nut and I had the Pad Prik King. The date was amazing and the conversation was great, but what stood out the most was that Allen let me eat most of his dinner after I devoured mine. Now that is love!

Allen leaves Marc (2014)

Ten months after meeting, I had to say goodbye to Marc. I was heading off to grad school in DC. Oh, did I forget to mention that I decided to wait a few months before telling Marc I was going to leave Seattle? Oops. I asked him to move to DC with me, but he quickly said, “Hell no!” It was ok because I knew we’d make long distance work.

Reunited in the Big Apple (2016)

Grad school was finally coming to a close and Allen was frantically looking for a job. Allen asked where I’d prefer to live, NYC or DC. I said “Find a job in NYC, or it’s over.” Just kidding…sort of. Luckily, Allen found a job in NYC, I was accepted into design school, and we officially became New Yawkahs!

It’s a boy! (2020)

By March 2020, NYC was pretty much shut down and WFH life began. Marc asked me if we could get a dog since we’d be home all the time to take care of it. He’d asked me countless other times before and I always said “No!” but this time I said, “Yes!” Well, we got Ringo and I quickly regretted my decision. We barely survived puppyhood, but Ringo eventually turned into the best dog ever.

West coast, best coast (2020)

It was getting cramped living in a small apartment with Ringo, Miso, Nori and Allen while we both worked from home. It was time to leave NYC. We wanted a more glamorous and spacious lifestyle, so we made the obvious decision and chose Long Beach, CA (lolz). “Goodbye” Big Apple, “hello” city of Snoop Dogg!

An expensive dog house (2021)

Ringo needed some space to run around, so what did we do? We bought Ringo the most expensive dog house ever with a back yard for him to play fetch in for hours every day.

Our new (70-year-old mid-century) home is in the heart of Long Beach, near the LGB airport. Come visit us! We have a guest bedroom waiting for you.

Marc is currently working at Clarke, Inc. based in NYC doing artsy fartsy designy things. In his free time, Marc enjoys eating, cooking, and playing with the pets. What some people might not know about Marc is that he’s fluent in Korean swear words and his highest bowling score is 202.
